MAKING STEADY PROGRESS
Deut 28:8
8 The Lord shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

13 And the Lord will make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall tend upward only, and not downward; if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day, being careful to do them,

Progress is forward or onward movement towards a destination. Progress is development towards a better, more complete, or more modern condition. To progress is to move or develop towards a destination or an improved or advanced condition. Man was not created to be static in life, but ever growing, developing and advancing in stature and life.
It is the plan of God that all who believe in and walk with Him make steady progress.
It is obvious from all the above scriptures that God’s plan and desire for all who walk with Him is that we be progressive in every area of life. He wants you to keep growing, advancing, improving, increasing, and prospering until your time on earth is over. Stagnation and backward movement is not His plan for your life at all. God wants us to “tend upward only, and not downward”. Forward movement in life is His plan for His people; and He is committed to it. He wants us to flourish like the tree planted by the rivers of water and never experience dryness.
Ps 1:1-3
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

God our Heavenly Father wants us to keep going forward and not backward. Up and down movement is not His plan and wish for us. He does not want us to daily rise in the morning like the sun and set at evening. As our everlasting light, He wants us to shine like Himself without dimming and variation. God as light is constant and steady. The same way, He wants us to make steady progress without going backward in our life pursuits.
Isa 60:19-20
19 The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moonshine on you,
for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. 20 Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.

See the Father as your everlasting light always. As your everlasting light, you will by His grace and power continually make progress in your life and pursuits. Stagnation is not His will for you, therefore, resist and reject it. Keep moving forward. Keep going ahead. Keep advancing. Keep progressing. Keep improving. Keep overcoming challenges and taking new territories. Keep accomplishing new things. Never see a roadblock or challenge as the end of the road for you. Any satanic attack on your person to stop you from progressing will not succeed as long as you believe the truth of God’s word on this subject. Believe you will keep advancing despite the obstacles that may come your way. God is on your side and with you. His covenant is with you and He is a faithful covenant keeper.
I pray that your mind and heart be filled with the truth discussed in this devotional and that you will never be distracted from it to focus on real or imaginary enemies in Jesus name.
